Our Cardrona River Terrace House has been selected as a featured case study by the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) – a lovely acknowledgement of the team’s commitment to creating high-performing, sustainable homes.
As our most recently certified Homestar project, this home achieved a Homestar 8 rating, reflecting a holistic, independently assessed approach to sustainability.
A Homestar 8 rating shows that this home meets a high, independently verified standard of sustainability — offering excellent thermal performance, healthy indoor conditions, and low running costs. For us, it’s a clear demonstration of how thoughtful design and careful detailing can deliver long-term value and comfort.
The Cardrona River Terrace House brings this philosophy to life. Set in a spectacular alpine landscape, the design balances efficiency and elegance — combining high levels of insulation, careful thermal detailing, and climate-responsive design with robust, beautifully crafted materials suited to the environment. The result is a home that feels effortless to live in while performing exceptionally year-round.
